Our Story

Luigi Esposito was born on the Amalfi coast, famed for its spectacular coastline and its world renowned Neapolitan style foods.  Luigi arrived in Dundee at the age of 6 and by the age of 15, the young culinary entrepreneur had launched his first successful business – a fish and chip van!  By 19, he had graduated to his first bricks and mortar premises where he and his beloved Helena worked together and raised their family, seriously – they had a cot in the back shop! Luigi’s has always been a family business!


A passion for his ingredients, the family spirit along with his rapport with his customers granted him status the Godfather of pizzas in Dundee.


He's rolling the dough in that big pizzeria in the sky now but the spirit he brought to his cooking still lives on through daughter Maria, alongside his granddaughter Dominique and her husband Ben.


The family have ensured his recipes remain as they were, and they continue to give the same friendly service and freshly prepared food to customers.


In summer 2017, they family were delighted to launch a new menu, designed by Dominique and Ben, inspired by their travels and passion for food.  Although the core ingredients of the pizzas remain as Luigi made them, and the classic pizza toppings are still available, it was time for the new generation to create a menu that truly reflected them.


Dominique prepares the dough using the finest Italian flour, tops it with the original tomato and basil sauce, 100% mozzarella cheese and garnishes with fresh garlic and oregano, your toppings of choice and then finally stone bakes each pizza to perfection.


The bases are 100% vegetarian and can be vegan on request, and the fried fare is cooked using 100% vegetable oil.
